AUTOMATIC FISHING CATCHES COUNT

The fishermen's guilds sample each catch in the fish markets of the fishing ports.

They need to know the number of units per kilogram of each sample to estimate its market value. It is what you call the catch catch grain.

To help speed up the task and achieve superior accuracy, we have designed a standard fish counting booth that we train by adjusting its Artificial Intelligence algorithms to each species of fish to be counted. We started by counting anchovies and sardines, but it is applicable to almost any fish species.

If you want to see other tasks that we can automate using artificial vision and artificial intelligence, you can skip this section.

COUNTING BOOTH. ALL-IN-ONE SOLUTION

To solve the challenge, we have developed a cabin made entirely of stainless steel that includes a scale, a box tipping table, a belt conveyor and a fish exit area where to place the plastic box that will collect the sample.

The control panel houses both the artificial vision camera and the computer that will analyse the images, as well as a touch screen that will allow each counting process to be started, as well as access to the history of processes that have been carried out previously.

SCALE

The process of counting fish catches begins by taking a sample and weighing it on the scale.

The weight is automatically recorded in the equipment so that, once the count is done, the units per kilogram can be established.

CATCH TIPPING TABLE

Once weighed, we proceed to dump the load from the box. As in addition to fish, we will find ice and some other strange elements, the table has a hole that will allow us to get rid of everything that is not fish, in a simple way.

Now all that remains is to start up the measuring equipment and push the catch little by little towards the conveyor.

CONVEYOR

This section of conveyor will pass all the fish in front of the camera for correct recording.

It has vertical lighting to ensure the correct counting process.

ARTIFICIAL VISION CAMERA

Located just above the conveyor, it will capture the images that the equipment will analyse to count the fish.

Both the computer and camera are located inside the stainless steel control cabinet and are protected from extensive cleaning after each day's work.

TOUCHSCREEN

To make the process as easy as possible, a touch screen is included. It will allow you to start the system, select the species of fish to be counted, as well as make all the necessary adjustments.

It also allows access to the history of the records previously made.

CATCH OUTPUT

Once they have passed through the counting system, they will be dropped into the box so that they can be refrigerated as soon as possible.

As this is a fast process, the fish is kept in perfect condition for consumption.
