The automatic depalletizing using industrial robots is the most intelligent solution in most cases.
It offers many advantages over the old cartesian systems, but these are the most obvious.
A programmable robot is able to depalletize a wide variety of box sizes and anti-slip cardboard using the same tool, but if necessary, you can opt for an automatic gripper changer that extends its functionality.
2.- Maintenance and service life.
Cartesian systems are composed of linear axis and complex elements such as gears, pneumatic cylinders which maintenance is much more complicated than the one of an industrial robot.
The robots that we integrate are always top brands whose reliability is enormously superior to cartesian depalletizing systems since they are machines produced in series and globally tested.
We have carried out depalletizing projects of multiproduct boxes and trays, as well as the depalletizing of different metallic containers in beginning lines in the food sector.
Canned food Palletizing in transit to the autoclave.
This robotic cell performs 3 different functions.
- Depalletizes the glass jars that come inside stainless steel cages from the retort and leaves them in the line of quality inspection.
- Takes the cans from the inspection line and leaves them on pallets, adding anti-slip cardboard between layers.
- Depalletizes the inspected and stored cans and leaves them on final labelling line.
Another robotic cell installed by us, performs the final palletizing using a smaller robot.
Cartons depalletizing cell.
It is also possible to perform automatic depalletizing when the pallet contains cartons of different sizes.
In this case, the products that are inside the carton have a weight that could damage the base of the boxes.
For this reason, the "comb" type gripper is the most suitable, since it also holds the box from below, avoiding the possibility that products drop.
The artificial vision system identifies the type of the box, its dimensions and location in the space, to be able to proceed to automatic discharge.

Plastic trays depalletizer.
This company automatically manages the order of their online catalogue, so it needs a system capable of depalletizing trays for different products that will conform the order of a specific distributor.
Our robotic installation is in charge of managing all the movements of pallets from the store where the monoproduct pallets are located, as well as the exit to the transport that will take it to the final destination.
The provided gripper allows depalletization of the trays in a fast and reliable way, holding the trays with pneumatic actuators.
It is completed with our automatic empty pallet stacking system which stores the empty ones completely, and supplies them when necessary.
Meat cans depalletizing cell.
The cans to be handled come from an autoclave, where they have been processed to maximize the preservation of the meat inside.
They are located inside a metal basket and there is a perforated plastic sheet that separates each layer of cans.
A robot with great load capacity equipped with a magnetic gripper, is able to perform the automated extraction of the cans and the already mentioned plastic sheets.
The meat cans are depalletized on a modular belt conveyor and then distributed on multiple conveyors where the products are brought in a row towards the labeling and packing area.

Automatic depalletizing of PET bottles
This solution is the begining of the production line within this vinegar producer.
Our system is the responsible of dispensing the plastic containers that will be filled immediately afterwards.
A powerful robot takes each tray full of cans and depalletize them on the area of cans discharge.
A device designed by us takes charge of the rows of cans and leaves them gently on the conveyor that will take them to the filling area, capping and labelling.

Empty cans depalletizing.
It is the opposite process to what happens in tin can factories.
In this case, the depalletizing of the empty metallic containers is made in the company that processes the food. They are going to fill them with tomato sauce.
The proposed solution consists of two chain conveyors in the entrance of full pallets, two stores for frames, cardboards and pallets, and several conveyors that are responsible of dismantling the layer of cans to turn it into a single row of cans.
The handle of the complete layers of cans, as well as the frames, cardboard and pallets, is made with a powerful 4 axes robot equipped with a specifically developed gripper for these types of processes.
