AUTOMATION IN THE CANNED FISH SECTOR

High production capacity and food safety as protagonists

Inser Robótica is an experienced engineering company focused on end-of-line automation processes for food and beverage producers, as well as almost any consumer goods that are transported on board a pallet.

Our proximity to the Cantabrian coast has led to collaboration with various companies that form part of the seafood supply chain.

From the fish markets of fishermen's guilds where we provide catch counting equipment, to large factories where they are processed and transformed into products ready for sale to the public, where our systems carry out secondary and tertiary packaging, as well as the transport of complete pallets to the refrigerated chambers where they remain until they are shipped.

What processes can we automate in this production sector?

The first phase we work on is the automatic feeding of empty containers to the line by means of depalletisers.

Once the containers have been filled with the product and are closed and in their primary packaging, our solutions will include processes such as:

- Case erecting and automatic filling with product.

- Closing, transport and palletising of boxes.

- Pallet wrapping, strapping and robotic labelling.

- Transport of complete pallets using AGVs or Mobile Robotics (AMR).

- Software for the coordinated management of all the automated systems that form part of the process.

DEPALLETISING FOR LINE FEEDING

We have depalletising solutions that take the empty cans and other empty containers and place them on the infeed to the canned fish production lines.

The same depalletising robot can also remove the separator cartons and wooden frames that often accompany the cans on the pallet from the supplier.

CASE ERECTING

We integrate both semi-automatic and fully automated case erectors.

While automatic case erectors unfold and seal the boxes by themselves, semi-automatic case erectors require a person or a robot to place the unfolded case on top of them in order to proceed with the sealing of the bottom of the case.

AUTOMATIC CASE PACKING

We have multiple automation options for filling boxes with products.

From high-speed lines with several Delta or Scara robots that perform unit picking, to gravity filling solutions with automatic counting or weighing systems.

ROBOTIC PALLETISING

Canned seafood products are also stored in cardboard boxes, so automatic palletising is one of the first points in which we invest in order to improve the efficiency of the end of the production line.

We also develop solutions for the reverse operation at the beginning of the line. This is where depalletising equipment takes the empty cans and other empty containers that will be filled later.

QUALITY INSPECTION

Machine vision is applied at various points in the canned fish packaging process. From quality control and sorting of fish before processing, to surface inspection of metal cans or other sealed packaging, taking into account different aspects such as reading batches or looking for sealing defects in seams and flanks.

WRAPPING

The process of wrapping complete pallets with film guarantees the stability of the load and provides protection throughout the logistical process that will take the canned fish to the end customer.

We have film wrapping machines for all needs. From semi-automatic machines that must be loaded manually, to complex ring stretch wrappers and stretch wrappers that are included in the most demanding end of lines.

PALLET LABELLING

Industrial robots offer very interesting advantages over traditional label applicators. The most important is undoubtedly the flexibility to vary the labelling position. Our robotic labelling system is essential when pallets of different products and dimensions converge on the same palletising and wrapping line.

AGVs AND MOBILE ROBOTICS

The autonomous transport of raw materials and palletised products is already a reality in the most important canned fish producers in the country.

Our AGVs and Mobile Robotics division selects the most suitable equipment for each need. From AMRs that can move through busy environments, to AGVs capable of lifting loads of over a tonne to the highest positions in refrigerated warehouses...

AFTER SALES SERVICE

Our after-sales service team is called Inser Services and is undoubtedly one of the sections most valued by our customers. It carries out periodic maintenance work on robots and has specific training on the operation of all the projects supplied. It is also capable of remotely resolving a very high percentage of incidents thanks to our SICOR connection system.
